I mean A&S
It really depends on the school, but this plan will work the least well at universities with selective business schools.
My best advice to “get in the easy way” to a state flagship business school is to get a great GPA at a feeder community college. I don’t think there’s an easy way for private university business schools with your stats.
Alright. I should count on going to economics from history major. I won’t get into a good school with Accounting major. Yea it changes my whole career lol
Again, your overwhelming interest in a “good school” is what is holding you back from accounting. If you can get better grades in college than you did in high school, you can go to a less selective school for accounting, pass your CPA exam (you’ve already proven you can take tests well), and have your career of choice. Or, you can change your career path for a degree in a different field with a fancier school name on it. The choice is yours.
Does accounting career depends a lot on which college one graduated from?
No. Pass your CPA exam. If possible, study in a city where you can do career related internships. Or, save some money and go to the city for internships in the summers.
Here is UNI’s accounting page bragging about their CPA exam pass rate

And here’s their accounting club helping students connect with employers

For an IA resident, UNI would be the first choice for your major. As suggested above, you could even consider doing a year or two at community college and then transferring in. Check the UNI website for admissiosn requirements. Admission at the public universities in IA are formula-based, so you should get a notion pretty quickly about the likelihood of getting in.
Also look at the accounting programs at Simpson College in Indianola and Drake University in Des Moines.
