Our little gathering gets smaller with kids flown the nest… anyone still online want to tell me if I forgot anything obvious from my table setting?

For the first time in many years, I’m not going to dinner at my friend’s house because she had covid.

I’m hopeful that she’s better by next week, first because I hope she gets better and second because my favorite ā€˜holiday’ meal is Break-fast - all the eating without all the praying! (and I love breakfast for dinner)

My friends do kosher for holidays (but not for every day meals) so we are always told not to bring food. Wine is okay (marked kosher) or food from the kosher deli that doesn’t need to be further prepared as they know our kitchens aren’t kosher.

Holiday candles if you like to light them?

On the windowsill!

As the sun set this evening we were greeted with the prospect of a shiny beginning, the opportunity to begin anew. Together let’s let go of this last year and allow the new year to be sweet and filled with wondrous adventure and joy. L’shana tova. For a sweet year ahead for us all. No exceptions.

Wishing the world a more peaceful loving year.

A PSA I made my usual brisket recipe and it tasted spicy to me. I couldn’t figure it out as it’s a recipe I’ve made every holiday for over 20 plus years. I pulled the chili sauce bottle out of the recycling and I see in small print that it said spicy chili sauce. This is the Homade brand which I didn’t even know came in a spicy version.

My mother came from MN for Rosh Hashanah, and we had a friend join as well. Unfortunately our kid could no be here.

SHANAH TOVAH!!!
