<p>Interestingly enough (and this is a massively remote tangent) some argue that DeBeers is a monopolist because it controls the market. You may be able to buy diamonds from UCLAri Diamond Co., but I’m at the whim of the DeBeers machine, making it effectively a monopolized market.</p>
<p>Apple is also a leader in deploying technology, like the [Firewire/IEEE</a> 1394](<a href=“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_1394]Firewire/IEEE”>IEEE 1394 - Wikipedia) interface. Whereas peecees (love that term *lol) tried to make USB sing, the 1394 is a strong alternative. Now virtually all laptops have both.</p>
<p>In my area, 1394 is the interface of choice.</p>
