Thanks for all of the responses. I bought a card (I will write a nice note inside) and a $20 gift card from Target (we are in the Twin Cities, Target is everywhere and everyone can find something there). I really wanted to give more but didn’t want to get her in trouble or put her in the position of feeling like she had to return it which would be awkward for both. I’m hoping many people also do likewise but knowing my neighborhood, I’m confidant they will.
