Well, I dont quite make your 500 point cutoff, but I’m going to share anyways. I improved 450 points from May of my sophomore year to June of my junior year. I went from a 1690 to a 2140. Honestly, I barely studied, even for my most recent SAT(I took two practice tests out of the BB, but only did math/CR sections). I am relaively certain that a sufficient amount of sleep, a good breakfast and a lack of nerves were the main factors to my score improvement. Although I am significantly smarter than I was my sophomore year, I should have at least scored in the 1800s.
