<p>If you start as a classics major at Trinity, I don’t think there’s any question that you would be able to finish it. Whether it is a “department” or “program” is just administrative. It seems to me from the article that they are considering whether to hire Classics professors to fill vacant positions, or if they are going to leave those positions empty. I highly doubt any tenured professors will be getting fired.</p>
<p>Also, if you are interested in classics, I recommend taking a look at philosophy too. I had a great experience as a philosophy major at Trinity.</p>
