Why not bring them to the real Mall of America…in Washington, Dc? If they have never been to DC, there is a lot to see and do. We live in the DC area and visit the museums often. My kids never get tired of them (except for the art museum). And if you are driving, DC is much closer to you. You can easily plan a trip that can include visits tailored to the girls interests.

Candace–thank you for this thread! We are about to travel to Minnesota (my twin daughters and I) because they are going to the Concordia Language Village at Lac du Bois in Bemidji. We have been debating whether to fly and spend some time at the Mall of America, or drive straight there.

After this thread, I am crossing the Mall of America off my list (and bracing for a long car ride!). 31 hours from San Francisco to Bemidji…if anyone has suggestions for such a long road trip they will be oh so gratefully acknowledged (books on tape, of course, and iPods; xm satellite radio is a remote possibility)…

I ate some rhubarb cobbler today.

To the above poster:
I suggest books not on tape, and I think XM satellite radio is a cool idea, though I can’t imagine driving that far. Driving through the midwest isn’t my idea of hours well spent, haha.

Dubai is in the process of building the two largest malls in the World! One of them will be attached to the tallest building in the World. Dubai is in the midst of a contruction frenzy! One of those malls will have an indoors ski slope with 24/7 fresh snow! LOL

Patient,
I’m a huge fan of books on tape/CD to pass the time in the car. My kids on the other hand appreciate the personal DVD player. We now have a van with the DVD “thingie” built in and as parents we greatly appreciate the lack of sibling bickering and the age old question…“Are we there yet?”

By the by…my DH is a big fan of rhubarb. He is a KY native and rhubarb was grown in his grandmother’s garden. I on the other hand am not a fan unless it is covered in chocolate …actually I’ll eat about anything as long as it is covered in primo milk chocolate.

When my daughter and I went on a road trip last summer, we got some lectures on tape. This company has lectures on many different subjects, and you may find something that interests all of you - www.teach12.com
