Mandatory 30 and 60 delay for transfer students new law?

Regardless of ease, my school disburses all aid 10 days before classes start, so that students do not have to pay for courses out of pocket. Jan 4-disbursement. Jan 11-pay tuition and fees. Jan 14-classes begin.

I know what my SAR says. I do not need to check anything. My entries are all the same. And I have checked my FAFSA and SAR many times. I am not wrong. Further, my SAR has an EFC of 000000 NOT 99999!

Then check your HUSBAND’S form…not yours.

Look…you posted a question. The suggestion was made to contact your college for a clarification.

I think you are being unnecessarily confrontational. People are trying to help you…but you don’t seem to really want any help.

Direct Loans are not disbursed prior to the start of the term. Pell Grants are not disbursed before the start of the term. BUT you, the student, would not be billed for these amounts if they are included in your need based aid package, because the school KNOWS they will receive this funding.

It is MY money. What don’t you get about that? If the law says I am entitled to it now, what is YOUR reason why I should not get it now? Can you explain that please?

I never said I needed to spend money on my kids needs.

What fault do you find in the word “entitled”?

I do not need to check anyone’s SAR. I am capable of knowing what has been submitted for both of us.

I have already contacted my college. They will not clarify it. Read all of the posts before replying.

Both Pell Grants and Direct Loans ARE disbursed before the start of the term.

My school does not disburse Pell/loans before the start of the term. I honestly don’t know of many schools that do. So, as other posters have mentioned - you likely will need to take this up with your school again.

If there is an error somewhere, you’re not going to find it in an online forum. I’d contact the school financial aid department and follow up with FAFSA. I’d also double check all the info. on both FAFSAs and follow up on your husband’s aid.
