Many Mids are upset by changes

Master Chief Banks isn’t the Brigade’s Command Master Chief, per se.

<p>That may very well be the case … she has addressed the Brigade and from what I hear was very well received. Her address has been the first “address” that my mid actually called home to tell us about. Very impressed with her.</p>

<p>Is it possible that the pendulum is beginning to swing towards the center? The Halloween/All Saints Organ Concert is back on the schedule as is the Winter Musical. Still will never understand why the Orchestra and the Women’s Glee Club are taking the hits, (and Men’s to a limited extent) - and don’t need to debate it any more, it is what it is - but hey this is a step…</p>

The Musical Activities Department is the primary source of Fine Arts education for the Brigade of Midshipmen. Throughout the Academy’s 163 years, Musical Activities have played a crucial role in the lives and development of midshipmen who have found academic enrichment, leadership opportunities, enlightenment, inspiration, motivation, success, and camaraderie in its varied offerings. </p>

<p>For the Midshipmen, the various music ensembles provide an invaluable resource during their evolution to become future leaders in the Armed Forces and beyond. In addition to being exposed to military and world leaders, Midshipmen gain strength and confidence by performing for senior officers and their classmates. They are continually taught to strive to work together as an ensemble to create something that is greater than themselves. They are taught to embrace the finest qualities the Naval Academy strives to engender in its own future leaders. </p>

<p>It is with honor, pride and distinction that the Music Department represents the United States, the Navy, and the Naval Academy.
