Many new facts/twists to Martin-Zimmerman case

Wow… glad you’re not on the jury…

So – he had a passport and $150k and didn’t run? And from all this he looks, what --guilty? By the way, the judge said he wasn’t concerned about the other passport.

I think once you have a replacement passport issued the other one is put in the governments’ system as canceled.

I know if I had no job and no prospects for a job and had a wife and kids and was facing more than a year of personal expenses and probably legal expenses, I sure would view $150k as being “broke.”

But 07DAD, it’s not your view that counts. It’s the judge’s opinion that matters, but since no one gave him the facts about the money he had no way to agree with you. Judges tend to get annoyed when other people make judgments for them.

07DAD—you said----"I think once you have a replacement passport issued the other one is put in the governments’ system as canceled.

but wouldn’t that mean the passport he turned into the court (the older one that was expiring) would be the one that was canceled? meaning the one he still had in his possession was valid. just because he didn’t flee yet does not mean he wasn’t planning to.

“I know if I had no job and no prospects for a job and had a wife and kids and was facing more than a year of personal expenses and probably legal expenses, I sure would view $150k as being “broke.””

you may view having $150K as being broke, but would you represent yourself as having no money? those are two separate concepts. furthermore, he has NO children. and his wife could start working too. life happens, she may have the unfortunate outcome of not being able to remain a student due to her husband’s actions. hey Trayvon will never get to go to college at all.

The Florida COA has determined that the judge who put Z back in jail and boosted the bail to $1 million has to be recused (appearance of bias). I read that the defense now has a window to challenge all rulings made by that judge.
