March SAT Math Thread

@wushsushsushs

i do not remember those either

@luca11, the first few tests in the BB give a specific number.
I dunno why the latter tests give a range.

The curve isn’t preset, but it’s also not determined by how well other kids do.

The experimental sections are used to equate scores with previous tests. It’s a very complicated process, but you just really need to know this:

 1. The curve isn’t preset
 2. Your performance isn’t determined by other test takers

@the airplane

***? o.o
i swear those came from different math sections, and they obviously can’t both be experimental…

The first three tests in BB give a specific number because those are actual tests administered by the College Board in previous years. The latter tests are made-up.

idk, just look at the list, there’s missing a few so it could be, i dont remember much sorry

Oh. I knew that my performance wasn’t determined by other test takers, so I assumed that the curve was preset. False dichotomy, I guess.

this is random, but what calculator did everyone use? I’m not sure if I could even finish the test with an 84 instead of an 89.

Ti-83 >_>…

TI-83 lol.

wow… the test is soo much easier with an 89

TI-83.

Rep it.

@boston1993

you are correct, it was a multiple choice. Was it in one of the big or the small section(s) though?

graphing calculator --isn’t there anyone who use a scientific?. I used a scientific calculator: Casio FX-115MS

totally forgot my calculator for the SAT. I didn’t think it would’ve helped though :/

There was a grid-in that people have missed.
the answer was 110, but i don’t remember the question at all.

the one with the two circles with diff radii…i got 6xpi but was this experimental?
also when are scores online?

@mybman
Uhh, I think it was in a big section. Because I remember it being around question 21 or 22. I could be wrong though.

I don’t think I actually used mine. All the questions are easy enough to answer even if one forgets a calculator. When I took the Jan test, I only used my calc to speed up some of the algebra.

There was a question where you had to find the length of an arc, and you were given two circles with the same center and the area of the second [larger] circle, and the angle of the first [smaller], which was 80degrees.

don’t remember what the answer was though. or if it was experimental or not.
