March SAT Math Thread

GPA is definitely a more essential part of your college application (in comparison to the SAT).

The SAT is more of a “qualifier” to make sure you are intellectually ready to take the tests that will be given in college. GPA measures your ability to do work in a consistent and efficient manner.

I would say your SAT score actually validates your GPA. After that they probably just look at your Essay, EC’s, Ethnicity, etc.

SAT shows intellect. GPA shows your effort in school, unless it is inflated. I don’t know why AP Exams don’t count much for college admission. It pretty much proves that you can handle a somewhat (say that word since some subjects in college can be harder than the AP level) college-level subject and validates your grades in an AP class (so many lazy people cheat in those classes at my school).

Since I don’t feel like reading 100 pages, could someone sum up what the big controversy was? I read on another thread someone say that like no one is getting an 800 but they didn’t elaborate why… I personally didn’t think it was very hard.

I’m pretty sure he’s just bitter that the rest of us disagree with his inaccurate reading.

The test was pretty easy, but we’ll see come Thursday.

What if your grades are inflated and but you also get a good SAT score, thats a win win situation.
