So very sad. Yes, he was far too young.
I was just reading his Wikipedia page, and two things jumped out at me that I never knew:
-
Jim Croce was Jimmy’s friend and mentor. When Croce died at the far, far, far too young age of 30 in a plane crash, Buffet was selected by their record company to be Croce’s replacement. Both Jimmy and Jim were incredibly talented, and the songs they wrote and the voices they sang in were something everyone could relate to.

Jimmy was a billionaire when he died. And more importantly, he used his talents and abilities to aid a variety of charities. He was an immensely talented man, and his talents went far beyond music.
The world is a lesser place without you, Jimmy. Will miss you much, and rest in peace.
