We also know three other kids that applied EA in our neck of the woods who haven’t heard anything yet

UGH. Informed delivery has a regular letter from Marist showing today. Assuming that means she got deferred, that’s crappy timing Marist, Merry Christmas. So sad.

Same, and sorry for that awful timing. They could have waited until after the break. We are striking them from our list entirely. They refused to use my kid’s preferred name on communications and sent two “Apply to Marist” emails AFTER the kid received the deferral letter.

Not using the preferred name is concerning and would cause me to think they wouldn’t honor that request if your child went. Very upsetting. I am an alumni of Marist and expect better from them. Also, I just think the timing is brutal and unnecessary. Poor kid has been running to the mailbox every day for two weeks. A deferral could wait. Oh well. Congratulations to those who received good news. Best of luck on the journey for the rest of us. I believe all of our kiddos will find the right spot, where they are meant to be.

Has anyone recieved any scholarship money yet? We did not get anything in our acceptance packet so not sure if that means she gets nothing or it just hasn’t been released yet .

C25’s had a scholarship in it. (But a little less than we were hoping). Sorry if this is bad news for you.

My kids letter also had merit included in it… sorry :frowning: That said, no clue if some come later?

I have a different scenario…my daughter applied early action (or she believed she did) way before the deadline. I asked her to check portal since we hadn’t received anything and learned she was listed as ‘Regular Decision’ :grimacing:. She called admissions this morning since we never got any updates on being deferred and they told her it’s too late for any changes, early action deadlines are way gone. They didn’t ask for her information to confirm if this was a mistake on our part, so I am guessing there is nothing we can do. Is it worth me emailing our regional admissions person? Or we just have to sit back and wait? A bit disappointed since she put a lot of effort into all of her early action submissions :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Did she apply through the common app? I would think there is a time stamp or confirmation of it being sent prior to the early action deadline. I think it is worth a call.

She applied through the common app and has the email confirming she submitted her application to Marist. My concern is that she didn’t select ‘Early Action’ when applying and then nothing else matters

I think if she mistakenly picked “RD” vs “EA” it doesn’t matter when you submit. In common app you can see whole submission submitted as a PDF, you can double check. If she did say EA I might be worth emailing the counselor politely?

Marist corrected the misunderstanding and she is back to being an early application. Small wins :tada:, now to wait for a decision.

Hi- curious what type of merit aid Marist typically offers and what stats are required to get it? Thanks.
