Congratulations to JJOboe, and to balolleyson and son

Cerabellum, thanks for the update. Please let me know what is going on with Peabody/Hopkins when you have figured it out.

balooleyson, let me make sure I have this straight. I am assuming Performance majors at Berkeley, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine and UCLA. I think the degrees would be a BM at Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach and UC Irvine, and a BA at all the others. Is that right?

Finally received S formal acceptance from DePaul for Percussion with scholarship package. $10,000 for music and $16500 for Presidential Academic Scholarship. Still waiting on ANY news good or bad from Florida State…

D was accepted with scholarship via email in February for Hartt (VP), but we finally got the real confirmation in the mail today! Great way to start the weekend! Best of luck to all who are still waiting!

Congratulations to everyone! I don’t have a horse in this race yet, but the way things are going with my daughter it looks like I’ll be at this spot in a few years so it’s interesting to watch. (paying particularly close attention to JJOboe and celesteroberts’D) Great to see you all getting excited. All the hard work is paying off! Congrats!

DesignDad - I wish I was proactive like you are… would have been more prepared for this whole process… we stumbled into it with no advice! Happy Ending though!

Balooleyson, congrats on all the acceptances. Did you hear from Berklee today or did your son apply early decision there? Just curious as that is the last one we are waiting on.

Berklee - was Music Technology, I think it’s a B.M.
UC Irvine - Undeclared Claire Trevor School of the Arts, so B.A. All Freshmen go in as B.A.s
UCLA - B.A.
CSULB - B.M.
CSUF - B.A.
CSUDH - B.A

He did have to do a typical audition on piano - anywhere from 1-4 selections at CSULB, CSUF, UCLA, and Berklee, but he is not interested in a performance major. He’s more of a Music Industry guy. Rejected from USC and Occidental - 9500 scholarship from UCLA.

My son just got the last response–this is for MM in Composition–he’s accepted at Juilliard, USC, Michigan, Peabody, NEC, NYU, and Texas. He’s got a very nice dilemma!

He was rejected at MSM, and didn’t even get an interview at Yale, where he’s an undergrad. Go figure.

Congratulations on all the great acceptances, Hunt! It will definitely be a dilemma choosing, although I suspect he has some idea of who his favorite professors are? Do share with him that Mackey blogpost I posted a link to on another thread. It has some very useful ways of thinking about composition programs and how to choose.

Bassdad I made a mistake about my D. It is actually the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Sorry about that. Yes it’s for Master of Music in performance (percussion)

My D got accepted into Peabody today also but is going to accept at Eastman her first choice school!! We are so thrilled for her. It is truly a dream come true for her.

Congratulations to ekviola, Hunt and son, BelCantoMom and daughter, and Champion88 and daughter.

Congratulations also to momofmusician17 and son, on son’s acceptance by Yale University for the BA with joint majors in Music and Computer Science, as related via PM.

Hunt, is there an instrument (or voice) that we can list as a primary?
