RPI is a tech focused school with a significant gender imbalance. I think it is still close to 70 percent men. The other schools on your list are all universities where there will be a significant portion of the students who are not STEM majors and a much higher percentage of female students. RPI is just a very different environment than any of the other schools you are considering. My dad and brother are both proud RPI alums. It is an excellent school academically, but has the reputation of being a pressure cooker. (Not that physics or engineering are a walk in the park anywhere.
