The great thing about Philadelphia is you have almost every type of school within a 25 mile radius. Most you can even hop on a train or bus to visit. I would suggest you take a few local day trips and try and get a feel for things that you like and don’t like about each one. Don’t worry if don’t think it would be a fit. You are just looking for some insights to the type of college that would fit you. Some of the best insights I got touring with my daughter were things that were on the visits she didn’t; like.
You can start with the Big 5 schools, Villanova (good fit for engineering and business), St Joes, Temple, UPenn, and LaSalle. You can add in Haverford, Swarthmore and Bryn Mawr if you want to see an LAC. While you’re up at Nova head over to Rosemont for a look at a smaller school. Drexel for a city school with Co-op.
Outside of the city you have TCNJ which has a great engineering program.
