So the SHU site videos say that the undergrad merit is essentially the same as non MD students. You can and should qualify for significant merit for the BS portion with high stats. But that merit doesn’t extend to the MD program The scholarships for the MD portion are more limited and more competitive though they have set aside money for this purpose
Regarding SHU acceptance rate undergrad acceptance should be doable for sure.
Regarding admission to the SOM, it’s tough but you are guaranteed an interview which is huge.
WIth the current family income think about Northeast LACs that are generous. Schools like Williams, Amherst will definitely consider special circumstances and you should give significant aid even with the higher family income. Also did you look into the scholarships at Emory, extremely compettive but so are you!
I wasn’t discouraging OP from putting in an app, just communicating the SH BSMD program has a single digit acceptance rate…so a big reach. @momsearcheng do you have more details on that program?
SH BSMD program will also cost quite a bit more than OP’s likely national merit options
I have no idea. DD never considered it.
If considering BS/MD, Virginia Commonwealth is worth a look.

There is Honors College program for Guaranteed Admission to their med school.
Plus, National Merit finalists get a Presidential Scholarship, covering most tuition and room and board.

I am not expert and pretty much used Google. From what I saw (if it is not an old page) there are ridiculous amount of strings attached to Seton Hall. One is to be a resident of NJ by Junior year. That means parents need to move to NJ ASAP… Practically program is for NJ residents…
Plus students need high MCAT and GPA. I would not consider it OOS.
VCU’s BA/MD has a 3% acceptance rate.
It’s a reach for everyone.
Basically almost all BS/MD programs either prefer local students or have single digits acceptance (and no merit). That is why going BS/MD route with limited resources is not a good idea.
