You said University of Southern Maine. Then you mentioned Mississippi. NEITHER of the colleges guarantee to meet the entire full need for international students. At the very least, you will need to add spending money (for things like books), transportation, and health insurance. These costs will add sever thousand dollars at least to your college costs.

Not true. You will have personal expenses in addition to tuition at EVERY college.

Also, once you are done with undergrad in the United States, your student visa will expire and you will be expected to return to your home country.

I agree you should look for affordable options in your home country.
