Same here. Ectopic pregnancy, premature rupture of membranes with infection, severe pregnancy-induced hypertension are just three things I can think of, off the top of my head, that could require an emergency abortion, with the woman not medically stable enough to travel to a state that offers abortion. Getting pregnant while living in a state that has prohibited abortions is gambling with your own life.

Threads here tend to attract the appropriate people to answer (there are some looking for conservative Christian colleges for example
I would ignore those as I assume those people would ignore this; people are here to help, not argue). As the parent of a biological female who identifies as nb I can sympathize with you totally, red states and their reproductive rights/lgbtq laws are off the table for us college-wise but we are lucky to live in a blue state. I don’t really have useful info to add but I think the others here have come up with some interesting possible options so I just want to say best of luck. I hope you will keep us updated with where your child ends up.

Good luck to your child on their school search. My daughter is applying to schools right now only in blue places. :blue_heart: I don’t have a school recommendation but do have a piece of advice.

One thing to calculate when working with a limited budget and looking out of state is the extra costs associated with travel.
My son is at a school 9 hours away. He’s in a rural area an hour from an airport and doesn’t have a car at school. We didn’t really calculate the nitty gritty details and related costs of getting him to and from school, to/from airport (50+ dollars each way), flight costs, the need to stay in a hotel to see him (when driving for drop off/pick up we would drive 9 hours, stay in a hotel and drive 9 hours back the next day). We easily spent well over a thousand dollars on top of tuition/room/board last school year related to travel. We were fortunately able to afford this, but as it kept adding up over the year, it was sort of shocking.
