<p>You might enjoy Lafayette. It is small and friendly, and while not in a city it is close enough to NYC. Good Neuroscience and Asian studies, including Chinese language. I also think Mcalester might fit you.</p>
<p>Take a look at Syracuse, see if they have any programs that interest you.</p>
<p>Not east coast, and possibly a little small, but Macalester meets your other requirements and would be a match. </p>
<p>Rochester loves to have prospective applicants visit and interview, so if it’s at all of interest, make sure to show them some love. </p>
<p>Pitt’s Honors College would give you a cohort of intellectual students. They work on rolling admissions, which means you want to get your application in as early as possible.</p>
<p>The Catholic schools don’t have to be out for you just because you’re Jewish…I’m not sure the statistics for BC but their admissions reps have definitely been out recruiting at Hebrew day schools in my area (with success) and has had an increase in Jewish students at the school. Plus their Hillel is pretty legit.</p>
<p>If you’re interested in Neuroscience and interested in East Asian Studies…especially Chinese*…Oberlin’s a great place. The Religious Studies program also gets rave reviews from those who majored in it. Don’t know about classics, though. </p>
<p>Other than its rural/suburban Midwest location, it fits nearly everything else on your list. </p>

<p>Note that Boston College and Holy Cross are run by the identical group: The Jesuits of the New England Province. So the atmosphere will be identical except that BC is 9000 students with several colleges (liberal arts, nursing, business) and HC is strictly liberal arts and only 2900 students.</p>
<p>Tufts was my first thought. Your scores are on the lower end, but if you’re looking for a top-notch neuroscience program at an intellectual and friendly school, try Brown! It seems to fit all your criteria.</p>
<p>Holy Cross is very strong in the science majors with new $70 million science building. Agree about Emory as a good match.</p>
<p>Reed College, Portland OR. Though it may be a little “reachy”.</p>
<p>My first thoughts were both Brown and Tufts. But your scores make both schools a reach (unless you bring them up). I think like 33% (1/3) of Tufts population is Jewish. But if you are a senior, it’s too late to apply to either of those schools.</p>

<p>University of Richmond (Virginia) might interest you, but I don’t know if Richmond can be classified as “urban.” It would depend on where you grew up & what you would consider to be “urban” I suppose.</p>

<p>Fordham…either Lincoln Center or Rose Hill. Very friendly and supportive and safe. Lots of Jewish faculty there…including some national experts, and plenty of Jewish students.</p>
<p>Its a wonderful school and you are an excellent match there and they may toss you some money.</p>
