math 115 v 114, and 104 v them

<p>One thing to note is that if you plan to take math 240, 114 is the prerequisite. Majors which require math 240 or 260 are most engineering majors, physics, biophysics, people in Vagelos MLS, and of course math. For you as a biomajor, unless you are want to get a math minor/are interested in higher level math courses, you should probably take math 115. From the syllabus it seems that there is much less of an emphasis on vector calculus/vector functions and fields/differential equations and more of an emphasis on very basic linear algebra and probability/statistics because this is designed to be a terminal math class.</p>
