Math for March SAT 2009

Here is my work, with just plain integers:

17: 34 < 49 < 51
18: 36 < 46 < 54
19: 38 < 43 < 57

And, of course, you can go from 41 to 49 with decimals.

Impossible. Look above.

It was looking for what x was.

no connor, b tells you the y-intercept part (trough, whatever its called) starts in the negative, the a tells you its gonna face downwards

Can someone explain the absolute value one? (a, a+10, x)

And also the one with 2p<x<3p…can someone half-restate that problem…cause i think i might have done it wrong

and jsut from reading all the pages in here…im positive about 40/3 and 24 for those respective questions…

Normally, 750 or 760. I’m hoping there’s a very generous curve, because a couple of those were killers, or seemed to be at least. I had an experimental grid-in that was much easier than the real grid in, so I was hoping the real one was experimental, but I guess not… :/

the function one was definitely a killer, i’d bet 99% of people got it wrong, i still don’t understand it lol

@ Monoclide - yeah, you’re right, sorry. Darn it! I made a really stupid mistake on that one…I added up 2p, 3p, and x :/

I would love to just take a test on all the math problems in the SATs. That would be… fun.

How much would leaving 2 blank affect my score?

wat prob is dat i bet i cud definitely do it in 2 seconds

112358, i’m in the same boat as you. My first grid in (it had a volume for cylinder) was much easier than the real grid in (pie chart and f(AB)). I fear that I have two wrong =[

Can some one tell me what the pi chart problem was? Trying to remember.

Hmmm, I’m confused then.

I had 40-50, but then re-solved it and changed it.

Here’s how I did it

x=2.5p

total degrees = p+p+p+2.5p

360=5.5p

p=65.545

x=163.636

What did I do wrong?

what question was the 40/3 one? Can someone try to type out the question please?

Mid 7s. Don’t be upset, though! If you answered incorrectly, you would get low 7s.

It was looking for percents, not degrees. :x

%, not degrees.

Wasn’t it in percent?

for the one about the club with guests and members, was it definitely 12?

i think i messed up reading whether it was asking for guests or members then… )-:

monoclide, if you only get two wrong, doesnt that not affect your score anymore then leaving em blank because it goes down by 1/4ths?

Definitely 12. I have a visual memory of re-reading it. Hahaa.

.5 rounds up, though. So you’d lose 3 points total. (2 for the wrong answers, and 1 for the rounding.)

how bout the diagonals one?

and also the rectangular prism with diagonal of 13 and height of 4
