Math for March SAT 2009

Can somebody give me a little more info on the old lady one? Either I didn’t have it or I just don’t remember it…

f(ab) was so confusing
was it 48?
and was that experimental?

so is anyone gonna answer my Q? The pie one was the 3 p’s and 1 x

and its like: 2p<x<3p or something, right?

^am i allowed to post that or is it against the rules?

i dont think i had it either…does that mean its experimental?

ahhhh sentance completion. it kills me everytime.

any idea when the embargo will be lifted?

i thought it was 48 at first but then randomly decided like 256 lol

f(ab) was 24. You plug in the one they gave you into equation. f(given) + f(fgiven) and f(given) was stated as 12.

I thought the math and writing were so easy, I personally hated the essay topic, but hopefully I got 9+ on it. The pie chart question was MAD easy I don’t know how you people found that hard. I missed like 3 to 4 max math questions hopefully 700+. I missed NO writing questions but I guessed especially on those last ones, especially on the improving passages one and the last 10 minute section. I too had a writing experimental section. With the CR I BOMBED IT! I too am Indian and found the Indian programmer one difficult. The museum one was ok, I sort of blew up on the one talking about the infulence of media on young children. The short passages were pretty easy and the sentence completions were a little harder than I thought, but hopefully I got those easy and medium ones correct. I ran out of time and skipped like 4 questions on one CR section, 2 on another one, and 3 on another one so yea… still hope for that 600. My goals: 700+ math this was so easy, like 650+ writing and like 570-600+ CR this is a dream come true!!! considering I cannot hit the 600 mark. Hopefully over 1900 total.

I hope you’re right!

zip, I put 48 because I freaked out and felt like I left too many blank in that section. I hope it was right? I also hope it was experimental!

I just did! Not that I care, they can do me the favor of giving me a zero. I did bad. Hahaha.

(Oh, and the answer is a few posts up. It’s in one of my edits.)

Probably after the West Coast is done.

24 or 48? I put 48…

hey demon, couldn’t you just pick a p value between 16-20 or something like that? and then you could use that to plug it in and subtract the total p value from 100 and voila?

once again, if i’m breaking the rules, someone tell me. i dont want to be score canceled

and the CR was damn near impossible for me

yep, i picked 19 monoclide, so i had an anwser close to yours. thanks!

i put 24 b/c like f(4) = 12
f(a) + f(b) = f(ab)
f(16) = F(4x4) = f(4) + f(4) = 12+12= 24

It was pretty easy especially the last 20 minute section i literally finished like 10 of the questions in 5 minutes lol. I skipped 3, 4 MAX hopefully 700+ dream goal like 730-750+. yea it was 24 and the one with the circle and tangent and you had to find the side you needed to know 30-60-90 relationship it was easy it was X radical 3 forgot the radius or I cannot say it because it is breaking rules

“Easy/lazy” way to do the p one was to just plug in numbers for p or even x. Plug in a number for p, equate 360-3p for x, and make sure 2p<x<3p.

Here are all the possibilities:

17: 34 < 49 < 51
18: 36 < 46 < 54
19: 38 < 43 < 57

16 was too low. P would be higher than 3x. and 20 has 2x = p. So no go.

i put 48 also, lmao

apparently we’re wrong according to drisco, though :/
