<p>The OP asked which is more “appropriate” not which is more prestigious. Depending on his or her stats, financial situation, whether he’s interested in engineering mathematics, Poly may be a more appropriate decision. NYU’s math program is second to none, but I don’t think Poly’s is an automatic no. “NYU, hands down” is, of course, a silly answer. It may not be a fit without some other information about the original poster. It’s like someone asking “should I apply to Harvard or UVa?” Well - how should we know?</p>
