MAY 2005 SAT TEST – FORM THREE (writing experimental)

The whole point of the 1st paragraph was to depict his sense of optimism despite the situation - he says “despite the reality of being on an open boat I was swelled with pride for my integrity”. The king is mentioned to SHOW HIS CONFIDENCE - He will make it back to Britain. Does he say anything about his love of country? NO!

i put “optimistic and confident” however i see the other views point… i believe that his affection to the king is not mentioned until later on in the passage and the question was referring to the introductory paragraph… correct me if im wrong on this. therefore optimistic would be the correct answer

tbry23m, I believe I got 21 … I was feeling lazy if I remember correctly and just started trying numbers until I got that instead of actually working it out

tsmall, he did not have a choice to choose to abondon his country for Tahiti. He was thrown off the ship after being carried out of bed; he was not asked to join them in going to Tahiti.

Okay, which was the fourth section? That one was experimental.

Left one grid in blank.
Missed 1 multiple choice for sure.

The grid in answer for the two lines one with slope 2 and one with slope 1/2 was 5/4 right? I guess i screwed up somewhere as I ended up with 3/4.

So 1 grid in wrong, one blank.
One multiple choice wrong, and add 2 more missed just in case.

So total of 1 grid in blank, one wrong, and missed 3 multiple choice. Any hope for 700+ in math ?

I had 4 mc wrong in the math of the march sats and got a 710

ok, maybe you guys are right but that ****es me off…i changed it at the last minute. at least i’m perfect on math so far. how is everyone else doing?

was there any answer that was 3/4? because i remember for some reason answering 3/4 to a question and i don’t know if it was the slope question

3/4 was the shading question… about how much of the rectangle is shaded

the answer to the slope 1 was 5/4

Hey guys, did you have 2 gird in math sections. I know I did, but doesn’t that mean one must have been experimental? Yet I had all the other questions that have been asked in this forum.

thanks iced, i knew there was one question that had 3/4.

and tbry, i think there were a bunch of variations for each form itself, so there were different experimentals, but the same questions.

pretty crazy, there’s so many different forms out there.

what was the guy’s name again?? we can probably find the excerpt online!

which guy’s name? bligh?

Hey guys I had the Juan question and had all the CR passages talked about in this thread, but I only had two writing sections (one 25 or 35 minute and one 10 minute)… I’m positive I had four CR sections. Anyone know which one was the experimental section?

if you had four CR, then CR is experimental

According to wikipedia’s biography on Bligh, he was optimistic and confidant. I think that settles it then.

“Bligh was confident in his navigational skills and considering his first responsibility to be getting word of the mutiny as soon as possible to British vessels that could pursue the mutineers, so he embarked instead on a 3618 nautical mile (6701 km) voyage to Timor.”

<a href=“William Bligh - Wikipedia”>William Bligh - Wikipedia;

what do you guys think the curves for this test will be because apparently it was easier than the other ones? does that play a role in determining the curve?

Any idea which one? Let’s see… there was the mutiny one (Bligh), the African music one, one with comparing the passages (illusions and had a picture of a bunny and a duck), and one more (one about the teacher)

yea… collegeboard normally does different versions unlike the case in march. and yes they have different curves to create the +/- 3 SD bellshaped distribution.

700+ on each section of each form represents 5% of the test takers. some forms one wrong in math could be 780 while on others it could be 800. all part of the collegeboard excitement.
