I don’t think it could be reckless and impulsive as he previously mentioned the munity being well planned

it was definately innocence.

For the axle question that everyone seems to be saying is 2n-2, are you sure that it was asking for total caost because I thought it said if n=price of one axle, how many axles does he have and thus put 2n+2.

what was that one question about arranging letters? I think it was something along the lines of you can arrange 3 letters 6 ways, how many more ways can you arrange 4 letters? i did (321) = 6 and (432*1) = 24. 24-6 = 18

silver i think that’s correct.

ITs just a permutation. I think you have it right.
The axle one goes as follows:
toll charges 2 dollars for the first two axles and then 2 dollars for each axle thereafter. 2n-2 = total cost
say you have 10 axles, 2 dollars for first 2, then 8*2 =16. 16+2 =18
2(10)-2 = 18.

yeah i had 2n+2 for that, but then i realized it was one the last questions, so there was a trick to it. plugging in numbers like tbry did shows that its 2n-2, so that’s what i put.

Are you sure they were asking for total cost? I guess I misread it becuase I thought they were asking for total axles.

what is the consensus on that patriotic pride one?

i believe the general consensus is optimistic confidence

consensus is patriotic pride is wrong, optimistic confidence is right

for the axle problem, the problem gave that the first 2 axles cost $2 and every additional axle cost $2 more and the number of axles is n

therefore, the total cost is:

2(n-2) + 2 where n>=2 since the total cost will be 2 + 2 times the number of axles over two.

If that is simplified, you get 2n-2

this is absurd, it was patriotic pride, the entire reason the captain had good outlooks was to tell his story to the KING and his COUNTRY. that’s the most cliched phrase ever “KING AND COUNTRY” its patriotic pride, done and done

go patriotic pride!

patriotic pride is definatly wrong!!!

hahahaha wordddd Iron Chef…that’s what I have, i still dont understand why it’s wrong.

What, exactly, was he “optimisitically confident” about?

that he can survive. THATS WHAT THE WHOLE INTRO WAS TALKING ABOUT!

No; he is “prideful” of his own actions, which he is quite satisfied with, even though he isn’t quite certain that he’ll be able to get out of the sticky situation 4000 miles from the nearest settlement.

still disagree, well see
