May 2010 Math I

You would have to use the distance formula and plot the two points as x and y, which came out as 60. I’m not sure which is right, but we’ll see on May 20th.

This would be easier if more than three people took the test. :p

Definitely

I’ll join the discussion, because I took Math I as well. I was semi-confident with the “infinite triangles in the plane” answer, but you guys put that too. That makes me feel good.

Well I got the plane question wrong about the circle. I put rectangle.

46~49/50 is my guess - which is obviously not 800.

I’ll join too. I took Math I as well.
I got infinite triangles. Also, I thought the answer to plane question was cylinder?
Why is the answer circle?
And… I got 55 on the boat question as well.

was the plane question 2 circles?

The plane one was a circle. I am almost positive on that.

I’m glad someone agrees with me on the boat question (55).

yea i think i put 55 also.
but there were two parts to the question. it said 5 inches from one point on a plane. and 3 incehs from the plane. so it should be two circles right?

I don’t recall it being a two part question. I only remember 5 inches from one point on a plane.

Are you sure?

F*** those weird geometry questions… I want to murder the test takers for even including that. I just put rectangle because I didn’t want to think about it.

But can someone explain how that is a circle? I can’t even understand what the plane and where the points are… If someone drew it out, I may get it.

@NewAccount: There were two parts to the plane question. I think zainchamp has it: 5 inches from one point on the plane and 3 inches from the plane. w/e that means.

yea it was a 2 part question. im positive

i dont think the other answer choices made sense. so i just put 2 circles

I had almost no A’s on the second column on the bubble sheet…

What would be 49/50… Grrr… Not 800. Hopefully, the curve will be lenient, because I thought it wasn’t THAT easy. I had to pace myself.

Do you remember any questions so we can discuss answers?

Well most were straight forward, right NewAccount? I was just hesitant about those plane questions…

I remember this question I was stuck with. It gives your parabola that stretches from left to right. The equation was like (x+3)^2=(y+3)^2

I RMBR THAT PARABOLA ONE. i just guessed C or D cause it obviously wasnt A or B

It was either E or D. I can’t remember. I did solve each one for y and figure it out, though.

Yeah. I narrowed it down to C or E. D wasn’t an answer. I don’t know why, but I did something to get D out.

Yes, it was E. I do remember now.
