May 2010 Writing SAT Thread

anyone remember the one with

as blameful(?) an example … as any

something in the lines of that?

^^ Five wrong?

and im worried because i think i only got like 2 NE in the 35 question section…

and the had had one was a NE?

anyone remember the question for blatant???
it was spot the error…and i thought it was asking as…as phrase

@silver, yeah 5 wrong. I don’t really know, because I don’t know how many NE were on section 10, so I can’t give a defintiive number, and I’ve only confirmed 3, so I’m accounting for any in Sec 10. What would that be?

does anyone remember what they got for the question that talked about skipping dinner and regretting it because they missed breakfast, hurrying to the airport?

12 essay and 5 wrong would probably yield 730.

@ Mabs ; Oh, maybe I’m thinking of the wrong question then? :\ Not sure, I thought it was the one.

Guys, what was your improving paragraph? I got Writing experimental and I wanna know which one, coz I did really well in one and really crappy in another…

^ juggling was the real one.

@ Jkpark ; Airship was experimental, and the other was about determination and pursuing juggling / guitar.

Silver turtle: I got exactly that on the March SAT (12 essay, 5 wrong) and got an 800.

Airship? I got a Jimenez one lol.

Was there like 1NE on the Identifying?

Was airship definitely experimental? I will be so happy if it was; it confused the crap out of me.

Going to ask again - anyone else remember an error ID where the answer was “misspoke” (D), should have been “misspoken”?

anyone remember the sentence “no one was more happy than I …”?
shouldn’t it be: …than me ?

**** i don’t remember which one I had an easy time on. I just know that the 1st one was hard and the 2nd one was easy…

*luceverita
although than me may sound right, it is definitely wrong gramatically.
you are comparing the two subjects “no one” and “I” so “I” not “me” is correct.

ex) He is taller than "me (X)
He is taller than I (O)

luceverita: I think that was discussed earlier. “I” is correct… There’s an implied verb “No one is more happy than I [was]”

I thought that “no one” is the subjective pronoun, so the following pronoun must be objective, thus “me” ?
