May 2012 Math Discussion

I realize that -5<=x<3 was the answer and i selected an answer containing -5 and 3, but were there answer choices in which -5<=x<3 AND -5<=x<=3???

■■■■… that cube one was so f***ing stupid (I got it right)… Watching Yugioh Dice Monsters payed off :D

@collegenovice
no, there were only answers that had <= on the left and < on the right

Phew! thank you for the reply, I’m glad that I didn’t get the question wrong due to a matter of signs

Does anyone remember a question with bar graphs about blood types (O, AB, A, B) and what you got for an answer? It was one of those questions where the answers were (I only, II only, I & II, I, II, III…etc.)

Does anybody remember the question where you had to put a, b, and c in order? I don’t think anybody posted it yet.

I got b<a<c

i got b<a<c

The question were you had to multiply j by 6 and it was one more than the square root of k. The answers were:

5
0
1/6
-1/6

I’m almost 100% positive the answer is 0.
Is that correct?

Yes b<a<c

I believe that
a = x^2
b = (x+1)(x-1)
c = (x+1)^2

@oitsliver

No. For everybody who is making new accounts to check their answers, please use the “search this thread” function, located under the page numbers.

so then what was the answer.

1/6 when you plug in 0.

Perhaps you should consider searching the thread.my god…

SOMEBODY PLEASE ANSWER

Uhmm, I think that was math experimental section. I don’t remember having that question.

Does anyone remember the question that had 11 green marbles, 12 blue marbles, and 13 red marbles by any chance?? Was that experimental?

^I think that’s experimental.

Did anyone remember the outfits question. Guy has 3 shirts and 5 jackets, how many pants does he have? I put 4.

60 different combinations. Has 3 shirts, 5 jackets. 35=15, 154=60.

i put 4 too

Oh and how much does k increase by when adding two to w… I said 6

k = 3w+2
k = 3(w+2)+2
k = 3w+6+2
3w+6+2-(3w+2) = 6

I believe i put 6 as well but for some reason i have a feeling i put 8
