May 2012 Math Discussion

Does anyone remember the answer choices for the multiples of 2 and 3? I think it was, 2, 3, 6…and something else. I think I put 1/4 unfortunately

@tttt: We’re on the same boat. Except I’ll be taking my last shot in June…good luck to you!

I got 4 for this.

I got 3/8 for this.

I got 3/10 for this.

I agree with everything else I think…

Another question that I just remembered:
The one that was the sum of the x, y, and z angles I got 360 for. It was like a triangle with its lines extending past the points of intersection or something.

The question abt the the two triangles inside the circle where y=60 - was x 60 also?

Equilateral = 3x60…?

@skylimits, yeah I remember putting 60 for that. The two sides of the triangle were the radii of the circle…is this the diagram you’re talking about?

Yup! Just making sure.

@lemniscate
ditto for all ur answers

@lemniscate,

yep, got those answers — although i don’t recall the 360 question

I think I got an 800 this time around…

^^^^^^I also got x = 60 for the circle with two diameters where y = 60.

what did people get for that problem with a giant isoscles triangle that had a base of 8, and then it was given that one portion was 1.5 or something?

@michael, i got 15 i think

40 - 25 = 15.

Grrr… i wouldve got 800 if it werent for that darn pie chart problem…

For that question, I remember doing 40-25, which is 15.

@sid
ditto, thats what I got too. I think you subtracted the big triangle which had base 8 height 10 from the smaller one which had base 5 height 10.

Is this for international sat

Someone please answer this question!:
how do you do the |ax-1| problem??? was it real or experimental?

For the inches/ mile question, was 3/10 choice A?
And for the circle and dot question, was 4 choice E?

yes and yes

Then for the circle and dot question, I don’t remember seeing 5 as an option. Which letter was it?

Does anyone remember a question where it asked for the lowest possible value of j or k or something? I remember that option E was Not Enough Info.
