May 2013 SAT Discussion Thread

@ilovediannaagron I put “replace ‘entrance’ with ‘to enter’” for that question.

but why couldn’t it be the one with “insert had immediately…”

also what about the shift in verb tense ISE

Anyone remember the question for the math fill in with the answer 2?

guys what was the question/answer for the vocab with answer choices arcane/sacrosanct

also can people post other vocab questions they remember

Would -2 on grid in and maybe -2 in MC be around 740?

Was the answer to one of the paragraphs, “however” or am I thinking of the experimental?

@5am6996 that would be around 720.

Yep, it was in the cooking article. It might be experimental. I had 2 writing sections.

Anyone else for the n+2/n question? Does anyone remember what it asked? I am still convinced it said the numerator was 2 less or the denominator was 2 greater or something.

Denominator 2 less than the numerator was the question.

Did anyone get a reading experimental? If u did which one did u think it was…

F!!! That automatically takes me down to like a 770, looks like i’m taking it again during my senior year to get that easy but extremely elusive 800 in math. F this, every time there’s some stupid mistake that prevents me from getting them all right.

As someone aiming for a 2300 (2160 in January), the fact that I lose 30 points for misreading one question out of like 54 ****es me off.

The curve better make a -1 be like a 790 because it looks like there were some ambiguous questions this time.

Is there any chance at all of still getting an 800 even with one wrong in math?

Could anyone tell me what they think my score would be?
Math: -1 on grid in and 0 omitted
CR: 1 omitted / Could you also tell me what -2 MC and 1 omitted would be (just in case)
Writing: Probably about -5 on MC and I would conservatively say a 8 or 9 essay

I think some years a -1 has been an 800 but it’s extremely unlikely because the curve is ridiculously stupid.

Can someone please explain how you got 96 for the hexagon? How did you figure out that the little sides were length 2?

@swimmer24,
770~790
790
~730
@Yakisoba, the sides were 1/3 the length of a side of the hexagon…you can tell by the way the lines were drawn.
