What was the answer to the Roosevelt Corollary question?

@Morse15 - Allowed the US to be a “police”

The answer to the Patrick Henry quote question was Alexander Hamilton. The federalists sought to reassure the anti-federalists that individual states would retain their sovereignty. John c. Calhoun was one year old at the time of the constitution convention and could “not be the most likely person to reply yes”. To quote an online source, “Hamilton preempted the name federalists, to reassure anti-federalists that dual sovereignty would not equate to the denial of a state’s individual sovereignty.” After all, federalist were not unitary gov supporters yet were federalists and favored equal sovereignty.

@MALABARCOAST2014 exactly! calhoun was not even in the same era as patrick henry! he came later on during the north vs. south conflicts-- the patrick henry quote was during the time of the constitution ratification and he “smelt a rat” because the thought that the federal government would have too much power- hamilton on the other hand, was a federalist and he wanted it ratified under all circumstances.

was the answer to the bison extinction one that the indians stopped being nomadic

@seahawks1212 bro you are an absolute beast, so happy someone finally agrees with me on that question :x

@MALABARCOAST2014 thought the question with the quote said “who would agree” implying that the person could have been alive or not born yet… do you remember the question wording?

@gaver456 regardless of how the question was worded, it was talking about the issue of federal vs. state power in the context of the constitution, it was not talking about states in terms of north/south/slavery, which is what calhoun was known for

@gaver456 also as far as i remember, the question was not asking “who would agree”… it was who would answer with a different opinion or something like that

what about the one about which immigrant group wasn’t present in the colonial days… was it irish

i thought the AIDs question was mass communication because it said what trend in history did the protests follow and gay protests had just started in the same decade or two…

@seahawks1212 I’m pretty sure there were a ton of Irish in the colonies, so I chose Italy.

Also, I still think it’s Calhoun because Hamilton was a Federalist so he advocated for a very strong central gov’t, and Calhoun was known for state sovereignty (not just North/South).

@seahawks1212 It definitely asked who would agree, or who would be the one to most likely say yes. In fact, Calhoun was one of the most vehement proponents of state sovereignty during the 19th century. Calhoun wrote the “South Carolina Exposition and Protest”, which was a document known for supporting state sovereignty. Keep in mind that the Andrew Jackson’s Force Bill completely infringed upon states rights. Here is a quote from “South Carolina Exposition and Protest” - “If it be conceded, as it must be by every one who is the least conversant with our institutions, that the sovereign powers delegated are divided between the General and State Governments, and that the latter hold their portion by the same tenure as the former, it would seem impossible to deny to the States the right of deciding on the infractions of their powers, and the proper remedy to be applied for their correction. The right of judging, in such cases, is an essential attribute of sovereignty, of which the States cannot be divested without losing their sovereignty itself, and being reduced to a subordinate corporate condition.” Hope this clears things up!

Italians didn’t come till much later. It had to be them.

Our school uses the American Pegaent textbook, which makes a big deal out of the Scotish and Irish immigrants. There were tons of them.

I thought it was pretty easy actually, but I know I missed a few (3 I missed for sure). Does anyone know the cutoff for 800? I heard it was -8 in some review books but -10 in others, which seems too good to be true

Do you remember which question you put Monroe Doctrine for? I remember seeing the answer choice but I don’t remember if I picked it.

It was Penn that bought land from natives though…

It’s Phyllis /because/ she was conservative and was staunchly against abortion and feminism. The quote was about women being mothers and supposed to be having children and all that, while Betty Friedan was an advocate of women’s roles being expanded beyond the traditional domestic sphere.

For the Ford question wasn’t the model A developed in the 1920s and avaibile in 4 colors and several different models? I changed my answer to high wage scale even though I knew that he paid his workers a lot, but it might not have set the precedent for the whole industry though
