May sound crude but is a real issue in our home.

You should put the lid down, too, because of the meest. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtTEGOxnq8M

^^^^That is why I am glad that we have separate rooms for the toilet as opposed to it being open in the bathroom.

As for the toilet seat up/down argument, DH is pretty good, but does forget sometimes. Which is why I was thrilled when we first looked at our new home at an open house: the master bedroom has two full bathrooms. Yay!

Would there be a market for a toilet seat that automatically (but slowly) goes back down after it has been up for, say, 15 minutes? Perhaps it exists already.

I wonder how they differentiate “activities” (off to look at any patents they might have filed…)

Sitting down on the toilet lid in the middle of the night is almost as creepy of an experience as sitting on the rim.

Must be quite a mess…she is still cleaning and it’s been two days.

I suspect she is enjoying the show we are putting on for “her”.

She isn’t enjoying anything. She hasn’t had any activity on CC since Sept 21…when she posted her single reply.

One doesn’t have to log in to read a thread!

Also, if you leave the seat and lid up the snakes and alligators living in the sewers can get into your house. Not to mention the alien monsters I remember from one of Steven King’s novels.

Donna, not to mention the sewer RATS!!! This National Geographic video shows how a rat can get access to your house via the “throne”:

thumper, at least we are enjoying the subject!

Apparently in the morning it can come out more like a high pressure firehose...

Methinks someone is not holding onto his firehouse.

^^ Best response of the day!!!

After growing up with 4 brothers and a dad, and then living with an H and 2 sons, I have never known males to “leave a mess” like what’s being described.

Am I the only one offended by the idea that some guys think they don’t have to be careful or clean up after themselves? What the heck?

Exactly who do they think should be doing that instead of them?

Hmmmm, I am seeing another use for my Christmas tree watering funnel.

I agree with mom2collegekids. I have never seen this either as it is being described ( by a poster that has not come back?). I’m the only female with very tall men in the house. I am “offended” by the original premise that this is somehow about height. It is about being careful, considerate, and being willing to clean up after yourself if you need to.

Well according to the research study (I posted the link previously) on the physics of urine splash-back it has to do with both angle and distance so height can certainly be a factor.

Well, Maybe height can be a "factor " but most men of a certain height, age, and maturity, who care about this and want to act appropriately have figured it out . There is no excuse for anyone of any height to leave pis_ on the floor.

Unless you lock the seat down, I don’t think your average rat will have any trouble pushing it up. Or a snake either.

Men! Prove that you can defy the laws of physics! Don’t leave non-sterile splatters!
