mcgill or cornell

A B+ should be a 3.3, and an A- should be a 3.7. At least that’s the way it works in most Canadian universities.

“so teachers just give u B’s for the heck or it?”

As one of my colleagues says, “Professors don’t give grades, students earn them.”

An A should be rare. In most of the classes I teach, 10-15% of the grades are A. Very rarely I get an excellent class where a third earn the A.

wait
so ur a teacher at mcGill?
what do u teach?

No, I live and work in Maine - not in Montreal.

I actually had the same dilemma as you—McGill or Cornell. I ended up choosing McGill and I do not regret it one bit!!!
Academically and reputation-wise, I really would say they are relatively equal. For me, it ultimately came down to Montreal vs. Ithaca, so no contest there. You know what they say about Cornell: it’s the “easiest Ivy to get into and the hardest to graduate from”. Just like at Cornell, you also have to work insanely hard at McGill for an A. But it is possible!
If you want more details, feel free to message me.

If cost isn’t a factor, I’d personally go with NYU Stern. I’ve actually been accepted into all three schools as well and just to clarify something… Cornell’s business program is not as reputable as NYU’s or McGill’s. For undergrad (and graduate) school, Cornell is consistently ranked 5 spots back of NYU (NYU usually hovers between 4-7 (this year 5th)) and Cornell is ranked usually 11-13th. But just in general, despite being apart of the ivy league, cornell is regarded as the “worst” ivy league. (mostly because of its near-30% admit rate). NYU, being in New York, offers more job opportunities and a constant business environment. Mcgill does the same as it’s located in the heart of downtown Montreal (although you cant really compare New York with Montreal) If you were going into engineering, then I’d definitely go with Cornell. But for business, it’s Mcgill or NYU.

If it’s business school you’re talking about, McGill would be a really bad choice. McGill’s business school comes no where near Cornell and NYU’s Stern, just check the rankings and you’ll see. If you say Cornell’s business program is not as reputable as McGill, you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about…

NYU’s Stern is the best choice
