We visited Schulich and my son had a lesson with the teacher he is interested in. Schulich feels bigger than the other schools he is applying to, although it may not be, but McGill is a big urban university in a great city and the kids seem mature and independent. While we all liked it a lot, I am a bit concerned that it would be easier for my son to get off track or lost in that environment–but then again, he’s going to have to be independent wherever he goes. Financially, if he got no scholarships from any of the other conservatories he has applied to, McGill is far less expensive for us (our state schools don’t work for his needs).
