I don’t see anything new or different in your post 19. It’s just that some here agree with your feelings, and others don’t. That your friends agree with you has no bearing here. Some have politely expressed different answers than you may have hoped for, but you asked for opinions and you got them.
It seems to me that a patient that keeps coming back, well, their behavior would tend to demonstrate they were satisfied with the service. So in that case, I understand the service provider not asking about the service. When someone suddenly stops the service, that might then be the first red flag that the patient has a problem.

One might even ask the OP, using the Op’s own words-- If his DOCTOR’S ONLINE RATINGS matter so much to THEM, then why is this patient scheduling appointments with someone else? Or to be clearer, why did the patient go there in the first place? The ratings only became so important to the family AFTER the phone call problem, just as concern for patient’s feelings came about only after the patient re-scheduled elsewhere. See the similarity? People sometimes look into a problem after they know one exists.

Yes, I know how CC works.
In my attempt to explain further, I hope I didn’t give the impression that I considered any of the responses here other than polite. I do appreciate the helpful input. Again, many thanks.

Oh no, you didn’t give that impression. Perhaps I should have left out “politely”.
My larger points were not about courteous posters, but rather was that post 19 did not express your situation differently than you had expressed before, and that some disagree with your conclusion.
I got the impression from your writing(in 19) that you felt if more of us here understood better, then we’d be more likely to agree this was unethical. Maybe I misunderstood you. Maybe that isn’t even close to what you meant when you said you hadn’t explained it well(in 19) and then proceeded to cite examples of friends that agreed with you. That gave me the impression you hoped more would agree with you. But you didn’t add new info to the explanation(in 19), you only added that friends of yours agree with you; but that does not persuade others here.

So that you’re not distracted by my use of “politely” allow me to amend my wording to:
" Some have expressed different answers…"

younghoss, post 19 was a fail on my part. I meant the mention of my friends’ agreement with me to illustrate that I hadn’t sufficiently described the situation in my OP, not to serve as additional information buttressing my point. But I apparently failed to communicate even that. My bad. As I can’t imagine that anyone on the thread, including the two of us, cares much about what I meant when, I’m calling it a day, with thanks.
