Medical Course Drop/Withdrawal</p>

<p>Medical course drops are generally recommended for approval by the dean for unforeseeable illnesses or injuries that have interfered with the student’s ability to complete specific course(s). Similarly, medical withdrawals (all courses dropped) may be approved for acute, severe illnesses, or injuries that incapacitate the student. Chronic conditions generally do not qualify unless the student has been stable for a sustained length of time and then experiences an unexpected change in health status. Students with chronic or recurring health problems should consult with their clinicians and carefully assess a realistic class schedule based on their condition and their likelihood of relapses. At the time this Bulletin went to press, these policies were under review and may be subject to change.
