Plenty of nurses have become MDs. Supposedly medical schools don’t care what your undergrad degree is in as long as you have completed the prerequisite classes. A lot of “pre-med” students major in Biology, Chemistry and Bioengineering. If you actually graduated with a BSN/RN and followed the “usual” nursing curriculum you would need to take about 50 additional credits to satisfy the M-Cat/medical school requirements. Of course the benefit to you would be that if you were one of the MANY that either decided becoming an MD was too much work/expensive, or were not able to get into medical school…you would have a very good paying profession…nursing. The same cannot necessarily be said about those with traditional “pre-med” majors.
