It’s true that buying through a discount program like GoodRx or online pharmacy like Cost Plus doesn’t go toward the annual OOP maximum. However, if one reasonably believes that they won’t hit the max, it’s not an issue … and for the parents who didn’t sign up for a Part D plan, there is no max OOP to hit.

Was just thinking about the deductible too. I had moved on Rx to Amazon pharmacy, and right now it was easier to just refill it there than to move it back to CVS just to have it go to my deductible (which I don’t think I’ll meet this year anyway, unless something bad happens and I need some new Rx. )
