Memorable Messages for the AP Test Graders

Probably the only way to make your AP graders laugh is if you wrote a very satirical synthesis or persuasive essay for English Language and Composition. That’s how my teacher gave 9s for our practice essays.

Singifica, your [sic] getting a 1, too.

hahah never thot of leaving secret messages…

What about using College Board as an example of a corrupt monopoly that the government has refused to “bust” for a Gilded Age frq on apush

Lighten up dude. It’s a high school test.

As long as the essay content is good and it’s done and THEN you write your funny jokes, the readers don’t care. But they are human, they might get offended, but more likely they will appreciate the humor. (As long as you cross it out, they CAN NOT penalize you for it)

My teacher went to an AP readers workshop and there are stories where students would write “Find Mr. XXXX and tell him he’s an idiot because he didn’t teach us this” and Mr. XXXX would be a reader sitting adjacent to the grader. Couples times they actually found money within the FRQ booklet. The thing is if it’s like $1 or so, they can pocket it, but onetime they actually found a $20 and had to give it to the head reader.

Either way, whether you write or not, for essays, they grade on points. So if you got a 1, you didn’t get it because you wrote stupid stuff (unless it was really offensive), you got it because your FRQ sucked and vice versa.

lol action, getting a 1 on my ap lit test today :stuck_out_tongue: i fail at english

I said:

“Thank you for grading my exam” with a smiley face.

on the last BC Calc FRQ. I didn’t cross it out.

For GOV’T, I drew a nice, 40 minute sketch of a mountain+landscape view. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that I drew it in a spot that the graders wouldn’t see.

I said this one city was overrun in my essay, so I was like “blah is overrun (like Osgiliath!)” as in “Osgiliath is overrun my lord!” from LOTR ROTK. If my reader gets it, I think s/he will laugh.

“Yo AP grader, Imma let you finish, but 2010 had one of the easiest prompts OF ALL TIME”

Happened today lmao. Scratched out though.
