A friend is an anti-vazzer. In 2009, her 14 year old woke up with and was so sick a few hours later they had him airlifted to the nearest large city hospital. He died the next day from meningitis.
He was “everyone’s” best friend, just a great kid.
She still refused to vaccinate the rest of her kids, can you believe it?
DS went to a boarding school last year and we had him get the meningitis vaccine (cannot recall which one but it was the one that is not required). In any case, with the first shot he had headaches and backaches for a day and felt terribly. He had no reaction with the second dose when he had that. We were definitely concerned but would do it again without hesitation.
Many of us had side effects to the Shingrix vaccine, but we still get them to avoid Shingles. One day of feeling crappy is worth not being dead!
