Men's & Women's Brains Wired Differently

^^^^If women ruled the world there would be no more war…just a lot of ****ed off countries not speaking to each other ;)

Individual people are much more different than men and women in general. I know several women who teach quantum physics. And I know several men who can’t grasp the concept of unit prices at a grocery store or at the gas pump.

People who insist on these types of studies are looking for a false sense of superiority. If these “facts” were true, there would be no women in any professional fields and no men who were unemployed and losers.

Each gender has tendencies and habits that may in turn be identifiable with their gender. If you don’t want to accept that then don’t, but to go as far as you have is ridiculous.

Want a fact? Woman are better than men at having children.

I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to accept that one gender may have a tendency to be better at something that another gender. Goodness, it doesn’t mean that you as an individual aren’t good at that one thing.

This explains why women know from the get-go if a man who is approaching them is insecure or extremely confident (not to the point of hubris, mind you).

I have always been a “girly” girl. I also love reading maps.

I heard women tend to like a man who appears to be very confident (as if he will be more capable of protecting or taking care of her when needed.) This may be a reason why some women like men who are slightly older than them, who have had more experience and achievement in their lives so they may appear more confident.

Dear i dont think so…Any one can perform well with effort.

Laugh of the day:

@gener Anyone can perform well with effort? Yes, that is true. But would you say certain things come easier to some people?

What it boils down to is that it provides one more pebble of evidence on a mountain of evidence that most men are better than most women at some things and most women are better than most men at some things. Many find this irritating and problematic because it calls into question the efforts to ensure that half the future physicists, computer scientists, and engineers are women, and many people are invested in this effort.

Those who are frustrated with the results could instead take the lemon and make lemonade, as a reasonable interpretation of the study is that a group may be better off if most of the group’s leaders were women.

^ No! It doesn’t! The study neither tested nor proved any such thing. All it showed was that there are some differences between how information travels. The rest is pure speculating on the part of researchers and writers.

Not really. It is a truth that may not be challenged, especially by mere evidence, that women are superior in most things, and in everything they are not superior, they are at least equal to men.

sorghum, I am guessing that was said tongue-in-cheek. I know that for some the conclusions regarding this subject matter are to be settled by dogma, and evidence has nothing to do with it.

Well, research DOES show biological and subsequent behavioral difference…

[VIDEO: School of Medicine Study Explaining Why Women Talk More than Men Garners National Media Attention](http://somvweb.som.umaryland.edu/absolutenm/templates/?z=41&a=2205)

Here’s a a thought…rather than be deny what is obviously the case…yes…the sexes are different…what if we embrace that idea. Then, things like medicine and engineering which have been based on the male pattern of learning and processing could include those missing parts which address the female patterns. Instead of making women fit the form of little men and having us try to be ‘like them’, how about letting us be ourselves.

The field of medicine is a great example. As a whole, the genders tend to interact with patients differently (okay, everyone calm down…I had a GERMAN MALE physician during my first pregnancy, he was the most ‘female’ wonderful Dr. I’ve ever had. ) The rise of holistic medicine, and it’s obvious financial success, is really based on the nature of the female. Patients want an interactive, humanistic, gentle listening approach. And, they are willing to pay for it. So, medical schools are changing. If we insist that ‘we are just all the same’ why change? Then the current system is just perfect.

If they were like some girls I knew during my K-8 years in my old neighborhood, the wars would be long, accompanied by much trashtalking, vicious with absolutely no quarter given, and mutually assured destruction is a matter of when, not if…unless swift intervention by other classmates or teachers/adult neighbors happened.

Incidentally, this was a factor in why my Catholic elementary school felt the need to publicly shame two older female classmates in front of the entire school and punish them with a week’s suspension followed by a period of in-school detention after they were caught fighting in a public park outside school hours by a local neighbor who notified their parents and school authorities.

While the boys fought more and were vicious, once submission was given by the subjugated opponent, the fight almost always ends. When girls fought, the fighting was prolonged and be much more vicious “take no prisoners/no surrenders accepted” vibe unless they were physically separated by other classmates or more often, neighborhood adults/teachers.

I looked back at the first post of this thread:

The problem is the way this is framed. It assumes that “men” (all men) are better at map reading and “women” (all women) are better at remembering a conversation. If “[t]he hardwired difference between male and female brains could explain why men are 'better at map reading” and why women are ‘better at remembering a conversation,’" what do we do with the many women who excel at map reading and the many men who are good at remembering a conversation? Does this mean that their brains AREN’T wired differently from those of the other gender? If so, then the statement that there is a hardwired difference simply isn’t true. If not, then brain hardwiring has no direct correlation with map reading.

This would be a whole different conversation if the title said, “The hardwired difference between the brains of people who are good at map reading and the brains of people who are bad at map reading has some correlation to gender.”

It doesn’t bother me that some mental tasks might be more strongly correlated to one gender than the other. It does concern me that people continue to make blanket statements such as those in the quote above. When they do, those of us who know those statements aren’t true often disregard the rest of the information. The people who believe blanket statements and soundbites are the ones who concern me.

And the “map reading” is pure speculation since it was never tested!

It would be completely different scenario if map reading was tested in relation to how information travels in the brain.

If the research/science on the number and direction of the neural connectors based upon the gender of the person is accurate, why the difference? Coincidence?

If God did it, why did she do it?

07, the link I posted gives a possible explanation.

@ Cobrat: You obviously ran with a tough 'street; crowd. In my experience…“women armed with words” rarely, if ever need to get their hands dirty (or their nails broken). Destruction can be accomplished with a well timed inflection and facial expression. :D
