Merit Scholarship Criteria

I’m an international student and I was offered a Dean’s Scholarship of $15k and a Delfin Scholarship of $12k, so $27k in total. I was really surprised (and of course happy) about Chapman’s generosity, considering how my stats are nowhere near stellar:

Major: English/Economics
GPA: 3.45 UW (Full IB Diploma, predicted score: 36-38/45)
SAT: 1750
ECs: very focused on publishing and writing (magazine, newspaper, journalism congress) and also tennis

I recently met with a Chapman representative and she said that I wouldn’t have gotten a great scholarship if I hadn’t been a full IB Diploma candidate and had a ‘third country’ experience (because I consider myself as part of three different cultures).

I hope this offers a slightly different perspective from the comments so far. :)
