We had a very nice, relaxing day. Oldest son and his wife are here with us as well as med school lad (who tested negative immediately prior to coming - not a guarantee, but certainly helpful). Both are here until mid or late January. That alone is a nice Christmas present as is having sold the two younger ponies we wanted to sell (Christmas presents themselves to others).
Since oldest streams games on the internet (his job), he and his wife (tech support) were working until close to noon. Then we ate our feast, opened presents (we only get/give one per person, so this doesn’t take long), played games, and watched a couple of taped TV shows.
While they were working the other three of us took a walk in the cold, windy morning. It had been 60 the night before, was 32 during our walk. Tons of earthworms were on the road dying. H and I picked them up getting about a pint containers worth. This gave our chickens a Christmas feast too.
I think it also gives me the “weirdest mother” award in that I would look at earthworms on the road on Christmas morning and opt to collect them all - every last one we saw - oodles - for our chickens even on a cold, blustery day. My guys are apparently used to such things, because they didn’t say a word to me - just pitched in.
