MHC vs. Wellesley

Since Barnard’s name does not appear anywhere on this thread (though Bryn Mawr’s does) I will add it to the mix. Barnard gets bashed on Wellesley/Smith threads, too, even though its admit rate is lower (not that I think that’s important.)

D would have happily attended Mt. Holyoke had Barnard not accepted her too, and had she not really wanted to be in NYC.

And for those who are looking to transfer, Barnard accepts many transfer students and has a very active transfer program. Transfers have their own dorm and really bond.

I think all these schools are incredible places but I was put off by the claim that “Wellesley and Smith are superior” that permeates their boards. There is no evidence to support this.

Each school has its own stat to bolster it; all offer a superior liberal arts education.
