Miami University (Ohio) Tuition Increase for 2018-2019?

@collegeisago Uhmmm…I’m from CA, the diversity capital of the western United States so please don’t play that game. That’s what people do when they don’t have a solid argument, labeling and name calling. It’s so overdone these days. Anyways, it sounds like we are both in “the donut whole”(yes I know what that is). I’m willing to bet our family incomes are somewhat similar. We just have very different expectations of what to do about the high cost of college. Do you want to know why college costs so much? Look on google about the legislation that Clinton passed in 1998 that took away the ability for student loan debt to be discharged away in bankruptcy. As soon as that legislation was signed into law by Clinton, banks were willing to loan virtually unlimited amounts of money to students and their parents, and as a result colleges were able to start charging whatever they wanted. Plus, our country is obsessed with college rankings, and colleges rise in the rankings by spending lots of money on teachers salaries and buildings and by just being expensive to attend(google that too if you don’t believe me). Students would never be able to borrow the money to pay the high tuitions to fund all of that spending if it were not for that 1998 legislation. So you can be mad at me all you want, but I’m not the reason college is so expensive.
