Thank you!
In state
1180 SAT
3.6 GPA
Applied September 9th
So for anyone keeping track at home…from an extremely small sample size (this forum, and friends / classmates) it appears that all the instate applicants that had a 3.6 and a 26 (don’t know the SAT equivalent) received their acceptances on Saturday. This was the last school my kid was waiting to hear from (applied all EA and rolling) so now it’s decision time. Good luck to all, keep the faith!
My friend’s son also got accepted in his portal over the weekend.
Stats:
instate
Applied Sept. 15
1180 SAT
3.9 GPA
(But he takes a lot of music classes, so his GPA may have been lower when State recalculated it.)
Lots of extracurriculars and leadership
2 AP classes (our school offers 10)
(Also, he wants to be a music major, so that may change how they look at the app as well.)
Accepted this morning!
OOS
GPA 3.8
SAT 1390
9 APs, Varsity captain of 2 teams
Would we have heard of merit $ with acceptance?
Congrats @mcc1970 ! Our Merit Scholarship offer came in a few days later. In fact, there was no email nor letter. My son just checked the portal and the scholarship letter was on it. So, you may wanna check the portal everyday from tomorrow
I just got my decision today… they want me to send my 7th semester grades. MSU is my dream school and I’m hoping I can get it!
My son has the same and didn’t hear on Saturday. Portal has remained the same and he applied the first weekend of October. We even sent 2 ACTs as they said to do during a college visit. Although
they don’t superscore they suggested sending both which would have given him a 28.
Just in time for Christmas our daughter was accepted this morning per the portal! There was no email and the portal said still under review last evening.
In-State, applied in Oct
GPA 3.9
SAT 1120
6 AP Classes
Varsity Volleyball
Miscellaneous clubs/volunteering
Hopefully everyone hears soon!
My S is OOS and got in 10 days after applying in early November.
SAT 1350
GPA 4.2
Lots of APs
Computer awards
Sports/captain, etc.
Got the top merit award 15000 per year (there’s a grid for OOS if you look it up).
It put MSU on par with Rutgers (in state).
My daughter applied Dec 1, heard back Dec 26th with acceptance.
SAT 1230
ACT 24
GPA 4.05
Hi guys, I found out I got into MSU today, the acceptance letter was pretty brief, there was no mention of any merit aid or scholarships, so is that because I didn’t get any or they don’t come until later on. Also apparently I just found out that MSU never got my FAFSA somehow even though I sent it I’m pretty sure, but I sent it now for sure, so will that affect anything regarding my aid since they will recieved my fafsa after I have been accepted, I’ll still recieve aid hopefully, right?
