Mid-January?

First off, congrats Hakuna and cpeltz’s S!
nkl811 – My daughter is indeed in the DPT program at Marquette. She is really loving it this semester since she has two classes that feel very hands-on applicable – Anatomy and a class in Surface Palpation. She is also still taking all her cores and her general science classes.
We were told last year that the department had just over 900 applications. They accept a bit over 100 so that they can get a class of just about 60. ACTs seem to be at least 29 – the Health Sciences college (which also includes Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Lab Sciences, and Speech Pathology) tends to have the highest stats at Marquette. DPTs do not have to major in health sciences, though many do (my D is Exercise Science) – some are psych or Spanish. Some are even in engineering (the really motivated ones, I guess!)
Last year, D also received $9,000 dollars a year with a 31 ACT. She thinks there may have been one slightly higher amount for those over 32. Unfortunately, it does not increase every year. But we did get a letter saying the tuition increase for next year will be under $1,000 so that total tuition will still be (just) under $30,000. Still pretty good compared to some other privates.
My daughter loves Milwaukee. Believe me, I had all the same concerns about safety. The kids really do figure it out – take the Limo, travel in groups when they go out on the weekends. She does walk back to the dorm by herself from the library and has never felt unsafe.
Hope that helps. All the best to your daughter. I’ve never been to Valpo but have heard good things about it.
