<p>I didn’t read all the responses, but I also didn’t see any comments regarding all the suggestions to throw the old vinyl ones away, and keep buying new ones. Side note…but that doesn’t bother anyone? We’re just too quick to throw things away and the land-fills are already overflowing. Our regional fill is already a mountain! That especially bothers me with many of the new “cleaning” products (Swiffer, dusters, etc.). Their use relies on endless supplies of refills. Far better to try to wash the vinyl ones, use cloth ones, AND verify the venting. I believe most vinyl ones come with washing instructions as well.</p>
<p>I use the fabric liners now and wash them monthly or so.</p>
<p>But when we had plastic liners, I’d wash them, too. Usually I’d put Tide liquid directly on the hem area where the crud likes to live, go over that area with a brush to loosen the crud, then wash on warm and hang to dry. Eventually, the vinyl liners will tear or crack after many of these treatments. That was when it was time for replacement.</p>
